The cookies and browser storage Kansumi uses to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and, with your consent, measure product usage.

1. What this covers
This policy lists the cookies and browser storage that Kansumi sets on its own site; "cookies" here includes local and session storage. Dodo Payments, Google and Apple set their own cookies on their own domains when you check out or sign in, under their own policies. How we use personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Necessary cookies and storage
These keep the service working and do not require consent. Blocking them breaks sign-in, language memory or upload claiming.
- better-auth.session_token and better-auth.session_data (prefixed __Secure- in production): keep you signed in and cache session checks. The session lasts up to seven days; the cache lasts 30 seconds. Short-lived state cookies may be set during Google or Apple sign-in.
- kansumi_session: sign-in on development and demo deployments. Browser session.
- kansumi_anon: connects an upload made before signing in to the account you then create or use. 24 hours.
- kansumi_try_upload: session storage that recovers an in-progress upload if the page reloads. Until the tab closes.
- kansumi_locale: remembers your language. One year.
- kansumi-theme: local storage for light, dark or system appearance. Until deleted.
- kansumi-consent: local storage for your analytics choice. Until deleted or changed.
- kansumi_banner_ flags and kansumi_dashboard_tour_dismissed: local storage that remembers dismissed tips and notices. Until deleted.
3. Optional analytics
If PostHog is configured, it loads only after you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. It records page views, feature use, generation and export outcomes and performance measurements under a pseudonymous identifier, stored in local storage keys beginning with ph_. Automatic click capture, heatmaps, surveys and session recording are turned off. Choosing "Essentials only" keeps analytics off.
4. Your choices
Signed-in users can change the analytics choice at any time in Settings. Anyone can clear the site's data in their browser settings to reset the choice, and browsers let you block or delete cookies and storage, although blocking necessary items will break parts of the service. Choices apply per browser and device.
